The Women Protection Organisation (WOPO) was formed in 1996; it however became registered in 2007 as an incorporated trustee with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Nigeria with the registration number CAC/IT/NO 25330.

WOPO is a non-profit making charitable organisation established for the advancement and promotion of women & children Health & Rights, Peace, Security, Social Economic Skills Empowerment and ensure that Women Human Rights are respected.

Under this focus area, WOPO covers Gender-based violence, psychosocial support for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence and other forms of trauma

Approach to health:

Prevention of mother to child Transmission (PMTCT)
Reduction of HIV/AIDS
Zero tolerance to Tuberculosis (TB), prevention and access to FREE TB treatment and cure
Awareness creation of Cancer and every communicable diseases that affect women  
Prevention of malaria, access to Free mosquito nets at the community level 

Approach to Climate change & Agriculture: 

Capacity building on food processing, packaging and marketing 
Support women & children in time of natural and man-made disaster   
WOPO helps to build capacity of stakeholders by offering technical assistance and training where needed.
Organisation also produces relevant knowledge materials for information sharing and awareness purposes 

WOPO beliefs about the importance of child protection.

We believe everyone has a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people, to keep them safe and practice in a way that protects them". Include a statement about equality and a commitment to anti-discriminatory practice. For example "we will give equal priority to keeping all children and young people safe regardless of their age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation".
